Silent Auction & Officer Elections

The Art Institute of Houston Alumni Association hosted their annual Signature event and Silent Auction. Money was raised for scholarships and more Alumni Association events. We would like to honor Michele Wood and Bernie Garner for their years of service and dedication with our Alumni Association. We would also like to congratulate our new President Andi Maceo and our new Vice President Mike Manuel. We look forward to another great year with continued growth.

Dear Alumni,

I wanted to take this opportunity to welcome everyone to a new year with The Art Institute of Houston Alumni Association. As of September 2006 we ushered in the beginning of our third year. We were able to kick it off with a fabulous Signature Event and Silent Auction. The proceeds from the auction will be put toward scholarships for students at The Art Institution of Houston. The advent of a new year always brings changes. One of the changes we would like to implement is the start up of a monthly Networking Happy Hour on the third Friday of each month. The intent is to travel around Houston and its surrounding areas to give everyone the opportunity to join us in their area.  Our first one was in October. If you know of a place in your area, let us know.

We have lots of plans for future events and activities for all of you, but we need your help. Currently, the position of President and Vice President are filled. Making this organization the best it can be cannot be done by two people. If you or anyone you know is interested in contributing any time whatsoever, please let us know. Help us work to make this the best networking opportunity for our graduates.

I want to thank everyone for their support, and I am excited to see the direction the Association will take in the next few months and the next two years.

Consider running for office on the Alumni Association Board.
There are a range of positions that will vary in the level of time commitment necessary.

With the recent success of our Silent Auction we have been able to raise scholarship funds.  We are looking for 4 to 5 individuals to become an integral part in deciding who this money gets awarded to.  This committee would initially meet once to determine guidelines for the scholarships and once each quarter to determine the winners.

Help us make the Alumni Association the networking opportunity it can be.
