The Art Institute of Houston is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (1866 Southern Lane, Decatur, Georgia 30033-4097, Telephone Number 404-679-4501) to award Associate of Applied Arts, Associate of Applied Science, Bachelor of Fine Arts, and Bachelor of Science degrees.

The Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board has granted a Certificate of Authority to The Art Institute of Houston to award Associate of Applied Arts and Associate of Applied Science degrees, the Bachelor of Fine Arts degree with a major in Interior Design, Graphic Design, Media Arts & Animation, Web Design & Interactive Media, Digital Filmmaking & Video Production, Photography, and the Bachelor of Science degree in Fashion & Retail Management and Culinary Management.

The Associate of Applied Science degree in Culinary Arts is accredited by the American Culinary Federation (ACF). The Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Interior Design is accredited by the Council for Interior Design Accreditation.
